La Jolla, CA — Algenesis Corp, a global leader in bio-based material science, is pleased to announce that Tom Cooke will join as President, as the company announces a new executive organizational structure designed to drive the company’s mission and key strategic initiatives. Tom Cooke, who begins work effective immediately, will report to CEO and co-founder, Stephen Mayfield Ph.D.
As President, Tom’s role will be to drive Algenesis’ strategic plan to commercialize all aspects of the business, including B2B applications of Soleic™ Technology in addition to DTC Branded Products that leverage new and existing technologies.

Tom joins Algenesis from Reef, where he was VP of Product for 7 years. He was responsible for Reef’s global product line strategy and execution including product management, design, and development. Prior to Reef, Tom spent 16 years at Vans where he held numerous roles in Product Management and Development, most recently as the Director of Footwear for the Core Channel, which included Syndicate, Pro Skate, Surf, and OTW footwear lines. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
