Wolfgang Hafenmayer is Founding Partner at SAGANA, and Co-Founding Partner of Circulate Capital.

As Founding Partner of Sagana Wolfgang oversees the Sagana Capital advisory and investment activities. The team currently manages a portfolio of 46+ direct investments and 18+ funds in companies and funds with attractive financial returns and significant human and planetary impact. With the lead of Wolfgang’s climate expertise, the global Sagana team focuses on outstanding investments in the energy transition & climate tech space, in sustainable fashion, health and well-being, alternative materials to plastic and food & AgTech.

As part of the Circulate Capital Leadership team Wolfgang is responsible for overseeing the investment activities in India and on the innovation side globally, while supporting the growth of Circulate’s LatAm investment activities.

Prior to founding these two businesses, he was an Independent Advisor to funds and foundations, he served as Interim Head of Societal Impact Advisory for Trusted Family to build their Societal Impact Advisory offering to over 100 large family offices.

He also conceptualised and built the Venture Philanthropy unit at LGT (today Lightrock & LGT Impact) and managed a global team of 30 investment managers and impact investing advisors across five continents. LGT VP was widely recognized by the industry as one of the global leaders in impact investing.

Wolfgang was an Investment Manager with BonVenture, the first German-speaking social venture fund and a co-founder at Forma Futura. He began his career in consulting as Executive Director at Consileon and also Bain & Company.

Wolfgang is the author of Die Zukunftsmacher (The Future Makers), a recount of 230 social entrepreneurs, politicians and scientists who are making a positive impact through their ideas and actions. He holds a Masters in Economics and Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
